CLASS ACTION LITIGATION
The Firm's Class Action Litigation Section has been developed to pursue remedies on behalf of aggrieved consumers and employees. California has seen a dramatic increase in Class Action litigation brought by employees whose employers have failed to comply with California's wage and hour laws. Many employees do not realize that they are entitled to meal periods and paid rest breaks. Many do not realize that their employer has incorrectly classified them as "exempt" when, in fact, under California law, they are not exempt and are entitled to overtime compensation for any time worked in excess of 8.0 hours per day or in excess of 40 per week.
In addition, many consumers realize that the have been treated unfairly by a product or service provider, but believe it was an isolated occurrence or "mistake" and elect not to take action. Perhaps the provider did make a simple mistake. It may be, however, that your individual experience is not unique and provider engages in a practice or procedure that violates the law and causes damage to many consumers just like you. The Class Action procedure affords an efficient for consumers to enforce the law and seek compensation
